After a fabulous opening on Friday night, we were sorry we had to cancel Saturday's and Sunday's shows. But we won't let the smoke and fire daunt our enthusiasm to share our wonderful production with you! We'll do one more performance: Tuesday, December 19th at 7:30pm. 12/15 - Just annouced ... Swing Shift Jazz Orchestra for SB Jazz Show on 1/14 @ SOhO ... The Santa Barbara Jazz Society is excited to kick off 2018 with the swinging big band, Swing Shift on January 14 at SOhO from 1 to 4pm. If you like Count Basie you are going to LOVE this band! These players might not be young, but it’s obvious they love to play and have the “chops” to prove it. Last year we were blown away with their sound and enthusiasm.
Leader, Ralph Diz Mullens, a former member of the famed Charlie Barnett band, provides the band with many of his own arrangements and also entertains listeners with historical accounts of much of the music in the band’s repertoire. Vocalist Jan Nelsen is the quintessential big band singer and is a delight to see and hear.

The Annual Parade of Lights will be a fun and festive Sunday evening for both boat participants and spectators - departing Sea Landing at 5 PM sharp. Enjoy the parade up close aboard the Condor Express. You’ll have the best seats in the house inside the cabin or out on either deck! Spectators will enjoy the 25-30 boats as they parade out of the Santa Barbara Harbor, and along the shore line down to East Beach and back. 12/10 - CANCELLED - Santa Barbara Jazz Society Holiday Party & Jam -- 12/10 ... CANCELLED due to hazardous air quality conditions, etc. ....... It’s that time of year again! Get ready for our annual Holiday Party. We will have our usual, rousing jam session with all you closet jazz singers and players… just be sure to bring your instruments and singers bring your charts! Our super house band of pianist Woody DeMarco, bassist Hank Allen, and Rusty Cummings on drums will be there to back you up. If you prefer to just watch and listen, that’s OK too.
The San Marcos High School Jazz Band will be on hand to play a couple of numbers and receive $1000 from our Scholarship Fund.
Admission is $25 for guests and non-members, $10 for current Jazz Society members and if you join or renew...
